Irwin experienced firsthand the obstacles faced by organizations that provide valuable insurance services and programs to those in need. His active involvement with a local chapter of the United Cerebral Palsy Association exposed him to the challenges and difficulties of providing Social Services to the community, including obtaining appropriate insurance. Unwilling to accept things as they were, the Siegel family revolutionized the insurance industry. In 1985, ISA developed the very first property and casualty insurance package specially designed for non-profit organizations serving individuals with disabilities.
In January 2018, Irwin Siegel Agency was acquired by Ryan Specialty Group and is now a series of RSG Underwriting Managers, LLC (RSGUM), the managing general underwriting division of Ryan Specialty Group.
Today, ISA remains under the direction of Irwin’s son, Chief Executive Officer Howard Siegel, along with a team of social service insurance experts, led by Dawn Martin, Vice President of Underwriting. ISA continues to pioneer how insurance is written for the Social and Human Service Community.
