Dawn Martin

Assistant Vice President of Underwriting

Dawn Martin is the Assistant Vice President of Underwriting at Irwin Siegel Agency, Inc. She oversees a Region of Underwriters skilled in the administration of ISA’s Specialty Package Program for Non Profit Social Service Risks and is responsible for complex accounts of $1,000,000 in premium and more. Her duties include the supervision of a Specialty Lines Unit that facilitates the issuance of all Directors & Officers policies, Workers’ Compensation policies and other ancillary products that compliment ISA’s Social Service Program. Additional duties include the development and growth of ISA’s most recent package program tailored to Paratransit providers and administration of a $7.8 million book of business consisting of direct Irwin Siegel Agency, Inc. house accounts.

Mrs. Martin joined ISA in July of 1995 as a policy administrator and transitioned to the Underwriting Department within six months, where she became an Underwriter Assistant to Sheila Shaw and Direct Account Coordinator for Howard Siegel. Desiring to move forward in her underwriting career, Mrs. Martin proceeded to earn a Broker’s License in July of 1997. Shortly thereafter, she became the Underwriter for the Agency’s retail accounts.

Her hard work and dedication led first to a Senior Underwriter promotion in June of 1999, and then to Underwriting Supervisor in May of 2006. The experience gained through Mrs. Martin’s work with larger accounts resulted in a deep involvement of many internal initiatives, such as the formation of specialized underwriting teams to effectively manage accounts over $500,000 in premium and the development of ISA’s Technology Task Force. The task force consists of representatives from each department who review and evaluate systems and applications in an effort to promote efficiency.

Mrs. Martin has been instrumental in the research of new product lines and continues to assist in developing our underwriters’ comprehension and knowledge of policy coverage. Mrs. Martin promotes an innovative thought process within her team that fosters the skill of underwriters to identify opportunities, seek additional coverage or products and generate the best possible product for ISA prospects, resulting in increased accounts bound and satisfied customers.
